How to Repair the Steering Rack on a Fiat Panda

If you hear a noise coming from the front of the vehicle while driving on uneven surfaces, a kind of thumping that transmits through the steering wheel, it is likely that the sliding bush of the steering rack has worn out. You can purchase a repair kit that includes not only the bushes but also the rubber boots for the tie rods. After removing the steering rack and placing it on a workbench, detach and free the boots, unscrew the tie rod from the passenger side, and slide the rack towards the driver's side to free the sliding bush. Remove any remnants of the old bush and insert the new one until it fits correctly. Reassemble the tie rod and new boots, ensuring they are secured with the appropriate metal clips.
