How to Change the Oil and Filter on a Fiat 600

Changing the engine oil and its corresponding filter is one of the easiest DIY maintenance tasks you can perform, but be sure to dispose of the waste properly. To facilitate the operation, it is useful to place the vehicle on suitable car stands before draining the oil through the designated drain plug located under the oil sump, which can be unscrewed with a 12 mm hex key. Once the drainage is complete, proceed to replace the oil filter located just above the sump, next to the radiator fan: use a strap wrench to unscrew it, and after applying some oil to the gasket of the new filter, simply screw it in by hand. Finally, fill the engine with clean oil until it reaches the maximum level.
