If activating the indicator causes the brake light to flash, it indicates a so-called false contact issue in the power connector of the lamp. Open the boot, remove the cover located directly opposite the lamp housing on the interior trim, and disconnect the power connector of the lamp.

You will immediately notice that one of the terminals inside the connector is oxidised. Open the lock that holds the terminals in place and remove the damaged one to replace it with a new one.
