How to recharge a Fiat 500 with a household socket

In this video we can see how to recharge a Fiat 500e using a domestic socket: it is essential that the domestic system has grounding, which ensures safe charging, both for the system and for people. In addition, extensions or adapters should not be used, but only the charging cable called "mode 2" with a specific charging connector and the connector for the domestic socket. For a normal 3 kW user, a full charge of a 42 kW battery takes about 15 hours, starting from zero. It is recommended to never let the battery level get too low, but to recharge frequently. On the charger control unit, the green LED indicates normal operation, the red LED indicates a cable anomaly, and the yellow LED indicates a domestic electrical system anomaly. Remember to always plug in the power outlet first and then the plug into the car, next to which there are LEDs of various colors that, flashing, provide information on the charging status. The green LEDs indicate the percentage of battery charge. If instead we set a scheduled charge, we indicate a start and end time, and until that time is reached, blue LEDs will flash to indicate the waiting for charging. The charging is complete when all the green LEDs are lit steadily. If there are anomalies, the last and first LEDs will light up with a flashing red light. To complete the charge, we must unlock the doors, press the button near the charging port, hear the unlocking noise and then pull out the charging port.
