How to change the battery in the Ford key.

To replace the battery and shell of the Ford key, work on a clean surface and prepare a small flathead screwdriver (or a plastic lever) to avoid scratching the plastic. Start by removing the emergency blade: it usually releases by activating the dedicated latch, and then you can pull the blade out of the key body. At this point, locate the separation gap of the shell and gently pry it open until the two halves detach, working gradually along the perimeter to avoid breaking the small tabs. Once the key is open, carefully separate the circuit board and the rubber button pad. If you are also changing the shell, transfer the same components into the new shell in the correct order: first the rubber/button pad in its place, then the circuit board perfectly seated, and finally the back cover. For the batteries, access the compartment and replace both batteries as indicated on the holder, using new CR2025 batteries. Before inserting them, carefully observe the orientation of the old batteries (+ / -) and replicate the same direction with the new ones; if you reverse the polarity, the remote will not work. Avoid forcing the metal tabs and do not scratch the circuit board. Close the shell by applying pressure until you hear the clips snap back along the entire edge, then reinsert the emergency blade and check that the buttons have a smooth movement. Finally, test the opening/closing function, and if something is not responding, reopen it and check especially the orientation of the CR2025 batteries and the correct positioning of the rubber pad and circuit board.
