How to open the bonnet on a Ford Transit? Perform maintenance yourself to save on labour costs. Pull the lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the bonnet slightly and pull the release lever to the left. Once the bonnet is released, lift it up and secure it with the stay. Once the bonnet is open, you can carry out your maintenance. To close the bonnet: remove the stay and let the bonnet drop from a minimal height. Ensure it is properly closed.
