How to Replace the Battery in a 2022 Ford Transit

To replace the battery in a 2022 Ford Transit, which requires an AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) battery, avoid using a traditional battery as it will lead to rapid corrosion. Accessing the battery is not straightforward, as it is located beneath the air intake duct. First, remove the air intake duct and disconnect the oxygen sensor (lambda probe) located on top of the intake cover. Extract the entire assembly by moving it sideways to create space. Use a 10 mm spanner to loosen the positive terminal clamp, disconnect it, and move it aside. Remove the battery hold-down bracket secured with two 10 mm bolts, then slightly shift the battery to access the negative terminal and disconnect the cable. Position the new battery in the compartment, tighten the positive cable, reassemble the air intake assembly, reconnect the oxygen sensor, and then reconnect the negative cable.
