Replacing Engine Air Filter with K&N Model

Model: Ford Focus MK 1 - Years 1998-2004

Open the front bonnet and locate the engine air filter housing: it is situated at the front right (when facing the vehicle) just behind the battery. Then unscrew the four fixing screws of the cover located at each corner, disconnect the mass air flow sensor connector, and lift the cover to extract the old filter. Clean the housing of any debris to prevent anything from entering the intake duct. Insert the new filter, secure the cover with the screws, and reconnect the sensor plug. The sports filter, in addition to improving throttle response, will simply need to be washed and oiled during the next maintenance, without needing replacement.
