Replacing the Gear Knob on Ford Focus

On the Ford Focus 2, replacing the gear knob is very straightforward. First, pull the gaiter off the base by hand (if difficult, use a plastic wedge). As mentioned, on this model, it is much easier than usual to remove the knob, as once the gaiter is removed, you only need to unscrew and pull the knob itself with some force until it comes off the lever. So, no bolts to unscrew or clips to break, as is often the case. To fit the knob, simply reverse the process by inserting the knob and fitting the gaiter.
