Changing the oil in the manual gearbox is a maintenance task that is often overlooked, but it is always advisable to replace it to ensure the gears are well lubricated, as the viscosity of the oil tends to deteriorate. This operation is extremely simple and can be done as a DIY task; once the vehicle is raised on ramps, remove the drain plug from the bottom of the gearbox and also the filler plug near the gear lever, so that the oil drains completely. Refit the drain plug and insert a tube into the filler hole connected to a funnel through which to fill the oil: the level is reached as soon as the oil starts to flow out level with the filler plug.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after.
