If you want to DIY the battery replacement on this model of car from the German manufacturer, the following description outlines all the steps and the procedure to follow for a proper replacement. On this model, the battery is located on the right side of the engine compartment. First, disconnect the negative terminal and then the positive terminal. Next, remove the fixing bolts of the upper plate. This will allow you to extract the battery from the compartment and replace it with the new one, then reconnect the positive terminal first and then the negative terminal, and finally reposition and secure the upper fixing plate.
