To reset the gear selector on the Ford Fiesta, perform the following operations while the instrument cluster is off: the selector will initially be in position P and should be moved to position N. Once position N is engaged, you can move the selector back to position P; at this point, press the appropriate ignition button to turn on the instrument cluster.

After the instrument cluster is powered on, you will notice that the gear selector has been reset to the default settings.
