Replacing the Cabin Air Filter

Model: Ford Focus MK 1 - Years 1998-2004
Part: Cabin air filter

The pollen filter purifies the air in the cabin, preventing allergies for sensitive individuals. The filter is located in the engine compartment under the windscreen. Obtain a pollen filter identical to the original model. To access it, rotate the three clips of the air grille approximately ¼ turn. Remove the cover by lifting it. Once the filter cover is off, take out the filter from its housing by unscrewing the two side screws with a ratchet and then carefully pulling it upwards to avoid dispersing dust. Clean the housing from any dirt. Place the new cartridge into the container, ensuring it is oriented correctly, and close the cover with the clips. Unscrew the screws of the air box, lift the cover to remove the old cartridge, and insert the new cartridge. Close the air box securely with its screws.
