Disassembly and Replacement of the Driveshaft

Model: Honda Accord MK 5 - Years 1993-1998

Before lifting the vehicle, straighten the deformation of the driveshaft nut at the hub (central position) and then unscrew it. Next, lift the vehicle, remove the wheel, and loosen the fastening pin of the wishbone ball joint at the hub so that you can extract the driveshaft from the hub itself. At this point, extract the driveshaft from the gearbox using a large flat screwdriver as leverage. Then install the new driveshaft (check that the number of notches on the wheel side joint is the same as the old one: this is important for the ABS sensor) by inserting it first from the gearbox side and then into the hub. Finally, tighten the central nut, deforming it in line with the groove, and refit the wishbone.
