Replacement of Engine Oil and Oil Filter

Model: Honda Accord MK 8 - Years 2008-2013

Lift the vehicle on suitable car ramps. Position a suitable capacity container under the oil sump to collect the used oil, and unscrew the drain plug located at the front: once the draining is complete, re-screw the plug after replacing the washer. Next, locate the oil filter, which is near the driveshaft, and unscrew it with a metal strap wrench: then apply the new filter after lubricating the seal with oil (it is sufficient to tighten it by hand).
Fill the engine with new oil according to the SAE specifications and quantities indicated in the user manual. Finally, manually reset the service light:
- Turn on the ignition without starting the engine.
- Press the SELECT / RESET button until the engine oil life indicator is displayed.
- Then press the SELECT / RESET button for more than 10 seconds: the engine oil life indicator and maintenance code will flash.
- Then press the SELECT / RESET button for more than 5 seconds: the maintenance code will disappear and the "life" of the engine oil will reset to 100.
- Turn off the ignition and then start the engine to check if the indicator has been reset.
