Here are some tips on how to remove the interior rear view mirror from your car. This device is attached in different ways depending on the model. It may be secured with simple adhesive, screws, or clips. When detaching it, it's preferable to heat the area where the adhesive is located with a heat gun and attempt to remove the mirror by gently pulling it. At other times, unscrew the screw that holds it to the roof; in some cars, you may need to first remove the surrounding plastic trims to access the main pin. The video shows how simple the replacement is on a CR-V; using the appropriate tensioner, you can loosen the clip and then slide the mirror off to dislodge it.
