The main purpose of shock absorbers is to cushion the bumps in the road while maintaining contact between the road and the tyres to keep the vehicle on track. Typically, they should be replaced every 37,000 to 62,000 miles with normal driving. Each time you change them, it is also necessary to realign the tracking and camber as the vehicle's setup changes. A person with good manual skills and the right tools can replace them themselves. You must compress the springs before opening the spring/shock absorber compartment. Additionally, tighten all the fixing bolts to the correct torque; if they are too tight, they risk damaging the components, while if they are too loose, they may come undone and create handling issues.
