How to Fit a Leather Steering Wheel on a Honda CR-V [USA]

To fit a leather steering wheel and replace the standard one on a Honda CR-V, proceed as follows: first, disconnect the negative battery terminal, then locate and remove the fixing screw on the side of the steering column. Lift the central block of the steering wheel (horn + airbag) and disconnect the airbag connector, the green connector for the horn, and the white connector in the centre. Locate the steering wheel fixing pin in the centre of the shaft and use an Allen key to remove it. At this point, the steering wheel can be removed. From the removed steering wheel, use a sharp object to pry off the central covers of the steering controls, the front cover, and the rear cover. Free the steering controls and proceed to reassemble everything onto the new steering wheel (first the steering controls, then the central cover, followed by the front cover, and finally the rear cover). Now reposition the steering wheel on the column and tighten the central nut, reconnect the airbag connectors, the horn controls, and the central white connector. Finally, reposition the airbag unit on the steering wheel and reattach the rear screw.
