Let's see how to reset the airbag light after an accident, in this case on a Honda Accord: the SRS system includes: airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, impact sensors, SRS control unit, and passenger seat weight sensor. A scanner capable of reading the SRS control unit must be used to obtain specific error codes: this tells us exactly which components are damaged and need replacing. After an accident with airbag deployment, the control unit stores 'hard' codes that cannot be cleared with a standard scanner. Therefore, there are two options: replace the SRS control unit or send it to a specialist centre that can erase the crash data. The passenger seat sensor must be recalibrated after the accident. Only after completing all of this can the light be cleared.
