Let's see how to remove the rear light from a Hyundai Elantra MK6: open the boot and remove the access panel, which is usually held by plastic clips. Unscrew the bolts with a 10 mm spanner (the bolts are hidden by rubber caps). Now, detach the light cluster by carefully moving it backwards (not sideways), as there are often plastic guide pins that could break. Disconnect the wiring by gently pulling (it's all plastic that has been there for a while, so it's quite fragile). Before remounting, connect the wiring to check that the lights work correctly.
