Replacing Gear Gaiter and Gear Knob on Hyundai i30

Model: Hyundai I30 MK 2, GD - Years 2011-2016

Lift the gear gaiter from the lower support by simply pulling it with your hands, then unscrew the gear knob (it requires quite a bit of turning) until you can remove it completely. Remove the spring and slide off the gaiter. It's that simple! To reassemble, insert the new gaiter onto the gear lever, fit it into the base support, and position the spring in the same place from which you removed it. Screw the gear knob back on completely. As you can see, this is a very straightforward task that anyone can do themselves, without needing to go to a garage.
