To replace the gear knob on a Hyundai i30, grip the gear gaiter to pull the knob upwards, detaching it completely. Once the old knob is removed from the gaiter, reinsert the retaining ring that joins the two components.

This will allow you to position the new gear knob on the end of the lever, securing it properly. When the new knob is in place at the end of the gear lever, ensure that you can change gears without issues.
