Applying Grease to the Ball Joint

Model: Hyundai Santa Fe MK 1 - Years 2000-2006

The ball joints of the suspension wishbone are already fitted with a rubber boot containing grease that ensures constant lubrication. Unless the boot is damaged causing grease to leak out, it is not necessary to add grease. However, especially if the vehicle is used heavily, you may consider applying a grease nipple. At this point, create a threaded hole at the base of the joint to screw in the grease nipple: first, drill a pilot hole, then drill a larger one with a 5.2 mm bit, then use an M6 tap to create the thread, and finally screw in the grease nipple applying Teflon as a seal.
