How to Change the Fuel Filter on an Iveco Daily

To replace the fuel filter on an Iveco Daily, work with the engine off and cold, in a well-ventilated area away from heat sources. Open the bonnet, locate the fuel filter assembly in the engine bay, and protect the area with absorbent cloths, as residual diesel may spill during disconnection. First, disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the locking tab and pulling it out without yanking. Next, move to the quick-connect hoses: properly operate the safety clip (often coloured) and pull the fitting out while keeping it straight, without forcing. Once the connector and hoses are free, remove the filter assembly from above and replace the filter element or the complete assembly, depending on the installed configuration, ensuring that the seals are intact and correctly positioned. Refit the filter and reconnect the hoses until fully seated, then restore the electrical connector. Before starting, restore the pressure in the system according to the setup (on some vehicles, simply turning the ignition to ON for a few seconds is sufficient, while others may have a priming pump). Start the engine and immediately check for leaks around the fittings and filter body; if you notice any drips, turn off the engine and check the connections and seals.
