First, get a small flathead screwdriver and a replacement battery, model CR2032. To open the key fob, start by extracting the emergency metal key by pressing the designated button. Then, using the tip of the key or the screwdriver, pry open the back cover at the indicated slots.

Once the cover is open, you can replace the battery, making sure to position the positive terminal facing you.
