To replace the timing chain on the Jaguar XF, it is advisable to completely remove the engine from its housing: to do this, loosen all the screws that secure the engine block to the mounts, and disconnect all hoses and connectors. At this point, on the side of the engine, you will find a cover that must be removed by loosening its bolts: under this cover, you will find the chain, which must be removed from its position by loosening the screws that hold the tensioner; once the tension is reduced, it can be slid off the sprockets, allowing for a new one to be fitted.
