Operation: How to replace the timing belt on a Jaguar XF

Before we can begin, we will have to go and open the front hood of our Jaguar XF. So let's start by removing the engine cover. Next, we will have to disassemble and remove all the air filter block and the cooling system hoses placed in the front part of the engine. After that, we will have to loosen the belt tensioner, and then remove the service belt. Once we have removed these components, we will have to go to remove the water pump, unscrewing the relative bolts. At this point, we can go and disassemble the timing belt cover, thus going to reach it. We then proceed by going to align the crowns of the heads, and then mark the correct position. Once this is done, we will proceed by going to loosen the relevant belt tensioner. By doing so, we will be able to go and remove the timing belt, and we will have finished the disassembly. To mount the new belt and reassemble everything, we will simply have to repeat these steps in reverse, and we will have finished the replacement.
