How to Change Engine Oil on a Jeep Compass

Prepare to change the engine oil on a Jeep Compass. Follow these steps: lift the car on a column lift or jack, unscrew the oil sump bolt with a socket wrench (after removing the plastic protective panel, if available), allow the fluid to drain into a disposal container, and then re-tighten the sump bolt. After draining the oil from the engine, lower the car and lift the bonnet; secure it. Refill with new oil and measure the oil level multiple times with the metal dipstick until you reach the ideal level.
