How to Replace the Tailgate Struts on a Jeep Cherokee

Model: Jeep Cherokee XJ, MK 2 - Years 1984-2001

In this guide, you will learn how to replace the struts on the tailgate of your Jeep Cherokee. Before starting, ensure you place a support to keep the tailgate open during the replacement. Take a flat-head screwdriver and pry at the base of the struts to remove the plastic clip: once removed, simply pull out the piece. Perform this operation on both sides. Now, remove the four 10mm bolts at the top of the struts (two on each side). At this point, you can take out the old struts and insert the new ones: snap them into place at the bottom. Use the bolts to secure them at the top, and the replacement will be complete.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
