This guide will show you how to safely activate or deactivate the handbrake on the Jeep Compass, as well as the Renegade. First, get in the vehicle and start the engine; you will find that the vehicle has automatically engaged the handbrake, and you will need to press the button or accelerate to automatically release the handbrake, as shown in the video. You can also manually engage the handbrake by putting the gear lever in position P and pulling the handbrake button; then turn off the engine.
