How does the tire pressure monitoring system on the Jeep Cherokee work?

In this video, we can see how the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) works on the Jeep Cherokee: if one of the tires loses pressure, we will hear an audible signal and the characteristic symbol of a deflated tire with an exclamation point in the center will light up. On the display, we can clearly see which tire it is and how much its pressure has dropped compared to the others; the reference plate with the tire pressures is located on the edge of the driver's door frame. Even if the light comes on for a brief period and then turns off, the pressure should be checked; we also remember that tire pressure changes with atmospheric temperature variations, and even operating heat can affect pressure. Once the pressure is restored, it may be necessary to drive for a few kilometers to reset the warning light.
