How to solve the problem of the disabled i-pedal on the Kia Niro EV

The i-pedal function in Kia cars is an innovative system that aims to make driving more intuitive and reduce driver fatigue, especially in heavy traffic or parking maneuvers. The i-pedal combines regenerative braking with traditional braking, so lifting your foot off the accelerator will slow the car down almost as if you were pressing the brake. This allows for smoother and more natural speed control without constantly switching between the accelerator and brake. In this video, we see what to do if this function does not activate by pulling the paddle towards us on the left side of the steering wheel: the car may be in automatic regenerative mode, indicated by a warning on the display at the bottom right. To disable this function and enable the i-pedal, hold down the right paddle until the warning on the display disappears. After that, we can pull the lever towards us on the left and the function will activate as normal.
