Kia Rio - Video tutorial

Model: Kia Rio UB, MK 3 - Years 2011-2017
Part: Steering wheel
Operation: How to mount cruise control in a Kia Rio

In this video tutorial we can see how it is possible to mount the cruise control in a Kia Rio, following some basic steps. The first thing to do will be to prepare the right equipment to be able to work: a 21 cylindrical wrench, a Phillips screwdriver, a Torx T40. Using a 10 nut wrench we have to disconnect the negative pole of the battery. With a T40 torx wrench we have to unscrew the two side screws on the steering wheel, get to the end of the stroke; over the steering wheel you need to place some tape in order to reposition the handlebar exactly in the center. Now take out the airbag from below, swinging it almost to make it vibrate. Levering it with a screwdriver we have to lift the orange part of the connector to extract it. Open the cable grommet and then pull out the airbag cable completely. Once the airbag has been removed, there are two cables to disconnect: the earth and the main terminal of the controls, as shown in the video. With the 21 wrench we have to unscrew the central bolt anticlockwise, without unscrewing it completely, then you can extract the nut and then the steering wheel by sliding the cables inside. Now to avoid losing the screws we have to settle down and work on a small table; then unscrew the screws with a Phillips screwdriver to remove the back cover. Tilt the steering wheel and extract the three control blocks; now it will be possible to place the new set of controls and reassemble all the parts in the steering wheel.

How do you adjust the clutch cable on the Kia Picanto?

To be able to adjust the clutch cable of the Kia Picanto you need to open the hood so that you have access to the components inside the engine compartment: in order to reach the cable you will need to remove some components on the right side, such as the battery and the air filter. Below them you will find the clutch cable, which will have to be adjusted by screwing or loosening the bolt placed at the end of the cable. This will make the pedal harder or softer; after the adjustment, it will be possible to assemble all the components by closing the hood.
