How to replace the battery in the Kia remote control.

Model: Kia Rio UB, MK 3 - Years 2011-2017

On a Kia equipped with a remote control with a similar snap key, prepare a new CR2032 3V battery and a small cutting tool (preferably plastic to avoid marking the plastic). If the remote is housed in a shell or cover, remove it to work directly on the key. Locate the emergency key latch, activate it, and pull out the metal blade. At the point where you extracted the key (or in the dedicated slot near the edge), gently insert the tool and make a slight twist to separate the two halves of the remote, without forcing the clips. Once opened, access the battery compartment and remove the old battery, being careful with the contacts. Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring it is positioned the same way as the previous one (the “+” side should face the same direction) and make sure it is seated properly in the holder. Close the remote by aligning the clips and pressing until fully engaged, then reinsert the emergency key. Finally, check that the open/close commands work: if it doesn’t respond, double-check the orientation of the battery and that the casing is closed properly.
