How to Activate/Deactivate the Automatic Door Locking in a Kia Optima

To activate or deactivate the automatic door locking on a Kia Optima, turn on the ignition and use the controls on the steering wheel to access the User Settings menu displayed on the instrument cluster. Enter the Door section and select the Auto Door Lock option. At this point, you can choose Off to completely disable the function or one of the available modes. Selecting Speed will automatically lock the doors when the vehicle exceeds approximately 9 miles/h; for versions with the Shift Lever option, the locking occurs when the automatic gearbox is shifted from position P. Confirm your choice with the OK button. In the same Door menu, you can also configure the automatic door unlocking.
