Removing the rear spring from the Kia Sportage? Here’s how to remove the rear shock absorber. Lift the car on a column lift and remove the rear wheel. Use a socket spanner to undo the mounting bolts of the shock absorber (at the top and bottom). Pull the shock absorber out of its housing. Compare the old part with the new one. Fit the spring into its housing and first tighten all the bolts at the top of the shock absorber, then secure the bottom. Refit the wheel with all the mounting bolts. Check the other rear spring.
