Replacing the Alternator Belt

Model: Kia Sportage JA, MK 1 - Years 1993-2002

The alternator is located at the front right of the engine bay (when viewed from the front), near the engine oil level dipstick: to access it, you need to remove the air intake duct located just above the radiator. Once you reach the alternator, loosen the adjustment screws to relieve the tension on the belt and remove it. Then apply the new belt, checking its correct length, and tension it using the appropriate adjustment screws: incorrect tension may cause the belt to slip.
