Radiator Replacement Instructions

Model: Kia Sportage MK 2, KM - Years 2004-2010

It is recommended to perform this maintenance with a cold engine to avoid unpleasant burns and to lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift for easier manoeuvring. Open the front bonnet and remove the radiator cap; then remove the lower plastic cover just below the bumper and unscrew the radiator drain plug to drain the water. Next, disassemble the air intake duct and the plastic cover of the grille; remove the coolant reservoir; disconnect the various inlet and outlet hoses from the radiator and the power supply for the electric fan; then unscrew the fixing pins for the fan assembly to the radiator and pull it out of the engine bay before proceeding to remove the radiator mounting brackets to finally extract it from its location.
