Repairing the Cabin Heater Radiator

Model: Kia Sportage JA, MK 1 - Years 1993-2002

The heater core is responsible for providing heat to passengers when the car is running. It is very easy to repair and replace. Disconnect the negative battery cable using a spanner and ensure it does not contact any metal parts. Remove the cap from the radiator, locate the drain valve at the bottom of the radiator, and place a container underneath. Once the drain valve is opened, allow it to fully drain. Next, remove the access cover to the heater core with a screwdriver, unscrew the screws that allow you to remove the upper part of the dashboard to access the heater core. You can then extract the heater core by removing the drain pipes from the core, loosening the clips with a screwdriver, and replacing it with a new one.
