Kia Sportage - Video tutorial

Model: Kia Sportage MK 2, KM - Years 2004-2010
Part: V-belt
Operation: V-belt replacement

The V-belt is also called the auxiliary belt since it drives the so-called auxiliary services to the engine such as the alternator, the air conditioning compressor, the power steering pump. Before proceeding with disassembly, it is suggested to note the passage of the belt itself through the various pulleys in order to facilitate subsequent installation. In the case of the car in question, the auxiliary belt can be inspected by turning it on from the wheel arch compartment on the passenger side and is kept under tension through the alternator: it is therefore sufficient to loosen the adjusting screw to be able to remove it.
