In this case, the timing belt is replaced with the engine removed, just to better illustrate all the steps; then we remove the timing side cover to access the belt, taking all the references located on the engine crankcase before removing the toothed belt. At this point we replace the belt with the new one, checking the state of wear of all the other components connected to the distribution.
