How do you replace the timing belt of the Kia Picanto?

The following tutorial illustrates the steps to be taken to independently replace the timing belt of the 2008 Kia Picanto. The replacement kit can be purchased online or at auto parts stores, with a cost ranging from €53.00 to €74.00. Before replacing the timing belt, we must remove the upper cover and the side protection cover. Release the tension of the worn belt by loosening the pulley and the tensioner roller, then remove the belt. Release the crankshaft pulley and remove the screw, in order to remove the pulley. Unscrew the pulley cover screws and remove the rotation sensor. Replace the upper valve gasket and align the sensor point. Clean the timing belt compartment and proceed with the assembly operations. Insert the belt and tighten the pulley, after replacing it and bringing the belt to tension, mount the covers.
