In the KIA Sorento, it may happen that the tailgate gets stuck, for example, due to a fault in the lock actuator or the corresponding control button. In this case, you can still perform an emergency opening by following the procedure shown in this tutorial.

First, open the rear doors, then fully lower the backrest of the seat and position yourself inside the boot. Next, locate the small access panel indicated, remove it, and manually release the mechanism.

At this point, you will be able to open the tailgate and repair the faulty component.
