The oil change on a KTM EXC 500 should be performed at 1,240 miles, unless you use your bike for racing, in which case the oil should be replaced immediately after. Today, this brief guide will help you perform the engine oil and filter change independently. The procedure is quite simple; first, remove the oil filler cap and the bash plate. Then, using a 13mm spanner, remove the bolt and let all the oil drain out. Next, remove the oil filter cap and take out the filter from its housing. Take the new filter, model 655, and insert it into the designated housing. Finally, add 500 ml of oil to the tank. Close the filler cap and enjoy your bike.
