How to Repair a Rusty Handle on a Lada Granta

We will see how to repair a rusty handle on a Lada Granta. Our YouTuber had a big problem with a nasty rust bubble on the handle. Although he clearly knows how to use the tools at his disposal - just not the paint - the result is barely acceptable, but certainly better than the initial rust bubble. The first step is to partially disassemble the door from the inside to access the screw that holds the outer handle. Remove the window crank (it's a rear door), take off the handle, and the plastic part of the inner door comes off. Remove the main screw from the outer panel. Now, behind the insulation, we find the screw that holds the handle. It's rusty too, but a bit of penetrating oil will loosen it. We can now remove the handle. Next, use a grinder and a file to remove the rust and get back to metal. With very fine sandpaper, smooth the metal and clean it well. Now prepare the two-component filler and apply it to the metal. Let it dry, then sand it with very fine sandpaper. Skip the step where our YouTuber makes a terrible patch thinking he can just paint the treated area. After that, he has to sand practically the entire door to achieve a decent result. He will mark what he doesn't want to paint and then reattach the handle. The result is decent, much better than the previous rust bubble.
