Start with a thorough cleaning of the upholstery, then proceed to the actual repair; insert reinforcing fabric under the tear, securing it with glue; then apply the filler putty, sand down the excess, and apply the dye with a sponge (between various steps, dry with a heat gun); finally, protect with a sealant and nourishing cream.
