Oil and Filter Change on Lexus ES300

To change the oil on a Lexus ES300, first lift the vehicle safely using a jack, rather than relying solely on the scissor jack. Remove the inspection plug located in the lower casing of the vehicle, secured by 4 screws. Using a 14 mm spanner, remove the plug from the oil sump and allow the oil to drain into a suitable container, which you will dispose of at an authorised centre. Next to the oil sump, you will see the filter, which you should remove with the appropriate tool. The filter will also release some oil; collect this in the same container as the oil from the sump. Refit the new filter in place. Replace the sump plug, ensuring you have changed the gasket for safety. Clean any oil residue and replace the inspection plug in the casing. Now it’s time to refill the oil from the top with 4.8 litres (including the filter) of synthetic oil SAE 0W16. Run the engine at low revs to circulate the oil. To reset the warning light, go to Menu Settings; Vehicle Settings, press OK; navigate to "oil maintenance"; confirm when prompted to "reset data". You can then switch off the ignition. The oil change kit costs about £100 on major e-commerce sites.
