Instructions for Removing the Splash Shield

Model: Mazda Mx 5 NB, MK 2 - Years 1998-2005

Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift or suitable ramps to facilitate access underneath the vehicle; the splash shield is secured to the bodywork with a series of pins along the perimeter and has two side flanges folded upwards: once the pins are unscrewed, you can remove the splash shield and access the oil sump as well as the steering box for any necessary maintenance. During the removal of the panel, be cautious of any small stones or debris that may have become lodged.
