Replacement of Engine Oil and Oil Filter

Model: Mazda 3 MK 1, BK - Years 2003-2009

Open the bonnet and unscrew the oil filler cap (this will aid in draining); lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands, ensuring it is level; unscrew the oil drain plug located at the rear of the sump, collecting the used oil in a suitable container; once drained, re-screw the plug. Next, replace the oil filter cartridge located in front of the sump, also replacing the O-ring kit included with the filter. Finally, refill the engine with new oil according to the quantities and SAE specifications indicated in the owner's manual.

Position an oil collection tray under the oil drain. Open the oil filler cap and proceed to unscrew the drain plug as specified in the video. Once all the oil has drained, you can re-screw the drain plug and tighten it properly. From the right side of the engine, you can refill the new oil of the type recommended by the manufacturer, ensuring to respect the maximum level (check it using the dipstick located in the cap). Once the refilling operation is complete, close the plastic cap, tightening it properly.
