Removal for Possible Radio Repair

Model: Mazda Mx 5 MK 2, NB - Years 1998-2005

To remove the radio, take off the plastic trim pieces on the sides using a screwdriver. If you have the special "U" shaped tools to insert into the exposed holes at the edges of the radio, you can unlock the clips that secure it to the dashboard. Pull the radio out by pushing the "U" tools back and slightly outward. Then disconnect the connectors and the antenna cable. Once removed, to take off the tools, apply some force pressing on the tabs of the clips that the "U" tools unlock. If you do not have the special tools, you can use a suitable gauge steel wire bent into an appropriate shape.
